We all need a break. It’s been a very hot, dry summer so far and many have had to cancel or change vacation plans due to the wildfires and smoke, not to mention the ever-changing evacuations and travel restrictions. For others, it’s been impossible to get away.
The team at Clark Woods LLP care about our community and we believe strongly in giving back. Many of us serve our communities by sitting on charity/non-profit boards, volunteering and participating on committees. Now that things are starting to open up a little, we thought it would be nice to support YOU for making it this far during the past 17 months.
Enter our Vancouver Staycation Contest running on our Facebook page from September 10-24. Like and Follow our Facebook page and complete the form on this page and you will be entered to win a luxurious Vancouver Staycation. In order to qualify participants must complete all three of these steps. Please Read the contest rules below.
The prize includes:
- One (1) night for two at Vancouver’s iconic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The hotel, which recently completed a $75 million renovation, offers guests elegant accommodations with modern amenities in a historic, luxury hotel. Subject to room availability and must be used prior to December 30,2021.
- A $200 gift certificate to the legendary Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House with its secluded rooftop garden patio. The menu specializes in classic North American cuisine with ingredients sourced from local farmers, fishers and food artisans.
- A $50 credit to Notch 8 Restaurant & Bar at the Hotel Vancouver which can be used for Happy Hour, Evening Cocktails, Brunch, Lunch or its famed Afternoon Tea. With a luxurious and contemporary design inspired by the romance of travel in the 1930s, time spent in Notch 8 will sweep you to another era. Subject to room availability and must be used prior to December 30, 2021.
Rules and Prize Information
Rules & Prize Information: This contest will run September 10 – 24, 2021 and will end at 11:59 p.m. PST on September 24. The winner will be randomly selected and announced within 72 hours after the giveaway ends on Clark Woods LLP’s Facebook page. Open to British Columbia Residents only. By entering this giveaway, entrants confirm they are 19+ years of age, release Clark Woods LLP of responsibility and agree to Clark Woods LLP’s terms of use.
Prize Package: One (1) night accommodation for two (2) guests at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver – accommodation subject to availability and the prize expires December 29,2021, one (1) $200 gift certificate Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House, one (1) $50 credit with Notch 8 Bar and Restaurant in the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (credit expires December 29, 2021). Prizes cannot be extended beyond their expiry dates.
Chances: The chances of winning depend on the number of entries received.
Eligibility: No purchase necessary. The contest is open to residents of British Columbia who are at least 19 years of age, except the following who are not eligible:
Employees, directors, and contractors of Clark Woods LLP and persons acting as agents for Clark Woods LLP.
Spouses, common-law partners, children, parents and siblings of Clark Woods LLP personnel.
In order for the selected entrant to redeem the prize, he/she must pass the following skill testing question: “8 x 2, then add 10, then divide by 2, then subtract 1 = ?”
For those that are visually impaired or have learning disabilities, the option to answer over the phone or other mediums will be available.
Winner: One (1) selection will be made 72 hours from all eligible entries received. All decisions made by Clark Woods LLP with respect to eligibility of the winners are final.
Selected Entrant Notification: Clark Woods LLP will contact the winner via email or in any other manner determined by Clark Woods LLP. If Clark Woods LLP is unable to contact the selected entrant after three (3) attempts to do so over a 48 hour period from the first date of notification or attempted notification, such entrant will be disqualified and a new winner will be selected by Clark Woods LLP.
Upon contact, the selected entrant will be required to confirm his/her full comprehension of contest rules, successfully complete a skill testing question as per Canadian government regulations, and provide any additional information needed to deliver the prize.
Non-Compliance with Contest Rules: If the selected entrant does not or cannot comply with these contest rules, then the selected entrant will be disqualified, their prize forfeited, and another entrant will be chosen.
Cancellation, Suspension or Modification: Clark Woods LLP reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the contest at any time for any reason without notice of fraud; technical failures or any other factor beyond Clark Woods LLP’s reasonable control impairs the integrity of the contest, as determined by Clark Woods LLP in its sole discretion.
Laws: The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
Personal Information: By submitting his or her personal information on the contest entry form, entrant consents to Clark Woods LLP using his or her personal information for the purpose of administering this contest. Personal information will not be used for any other purposes without the entrant’s consent.
Contest Undermining: Clark Woos LLP reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest, or to be acting in violation of these rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil law, and should such an attempt be made, Clark Woods LLP reserves the right to seek damages from such person to the fullest extent permitted by law and/or to cooperate in the prosecution of such person. Clark Woods LLP’s failure to enforce any term of these rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Dispute and Governing Law: Entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action (collectively, “Disputes”) arising out of or connected with this contest, or any prize awarded, shall not be brought after two years from the date that Clark Woods LLP announces the winner(s) of the contest; (ii) if Disputes are brought within two years from the date that Clark Woods LLP announces the winner(s), such Disputes shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the Courts of British Columbia, Canada; (iii) any and all Disputes, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this contest but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Clark Woods LLP in connection with the contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Province of British Columbia.
